Shombov front cover

Dear Reader,

You already have your shares of missions impossible!
But, what if we consider what is possible?
And what if we don’t doubt the Possible?
What if we start our day with possibility.
What if believe that healing is possible.
What if we choose to let go of the doubt of our rocky environments and plant seeds of Peace.
What if we choose the risk of what might sound….schmaltzy or small and instead, believe in what might happen if we act on it and choose the Greater Possible!

— GiGi Desaulniers, Shombov, author/artist

“What if we start our day with possibility?” GiGi Desaulniers writes in Shombov, the Possible.

“It’s an idea that will resonate with readers of GiGi Desaulniers’ book, Shombov, the Possible, Book of Peace. In prose, poetry, illustrations, GiGi reminds us of people who have embraced — and acted on — the concept.

She also writes movingly of her own experiences with Mother Teresa and with equally inspiring denizens of West Bengal in India and Bangladesh, and of the peace she finds in bucolic Vermont, where she lives.

When times seem grim, Desaulnier’s book is both comforting and encouraging.” — Kathie Raleigh, former newspaper reporter, and editor

“Faith, trust, and magic at its finest.” — Charlene Noel, Spiritual Energy Healer

“GiGi’s words are like a healing balm, easy to understand, and feel.” — Pauline Shillingsford, Nurse and Artist

The Author

GiGi Desaulniers is an artist and writer with a deep conviction. Her many journeys to India over a period of over 30 years informed the paths she would take as she helped to plant the seeds of possibility among the poorest of us.

It was there between the Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity and the Franciscan Missionaries House on AJC Bose Road in Kolkata where GiGi met a street family who would change the trajectory of her journeys.

After taking part in a micro credit lending program under the direction of Mohammed Yunis in Bangladesh, GiGi partnered with an Indian team headed by Nityabrata Das to make micro lending available to the poorest women, beginning with rock breakers working by the river in Matagara, Northern India.

GiGi has been writing for many years for newspapers and other publications and produced a prayer journal for eight years.

Now retired, GiGi finds joy sharing in the Vermont landscape she calls home with her partner, Kenny and her cat, Grace.
